The Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) curriculum at Horizon College is meticulously designed to align with industry demands, technological advancements, and academic excellence. The program follows a well-structured, outcome-based education (OBE) model as per the guidelines of the AICTE and affiliated university, ensuring a balanced blend of theory, hands-on skills, and industry exposure.


Program Duration:

4 Years (8 Semesters) – Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Communication Engineering
3 Years (6 Semesters) – For lateral entry diploma holders (Direct Second Year)


Curriculum Structure

Each semester consists of:

  • Core Subjects: Fundamental and advanced topics in electronics, communication, signal processing, embedded systems, and VLSI.
  • Laboratories: Practical sessions designed to reinforce theoretical knowledge and develop hardware/software skills.
  • Elective Courses: Students can choose domain-specific or interdisciplinary electives in emerging areas like IoT, 5G, AI, Robotics, and Cyber-Physical Systems.
  • Project Work: Mini and major projects in final years to promote innovation, research orientation, and industry readiness.
  • Industrial Training & Internships: Mandatory internships during vacations to gain real-world exposure.

Semester 1 & 2: Foundation Courses

  • Mathematics, Physics, Basic Electronics, Programming in C, Engineering Drawing, Communication Skills

Semester 3 & 4: Core EC Concepts

  • Electronic Devices & Circuits, Network Theory, Digital Electronics, Signals & Systems, Analog Communication

Semester 5 & 6: Advanced Technologies

  • Microprocessors & Microcontrollers, Digital Communication, VLSI Design, Antennas and Wave Propagation, Control Systems

Semester 7 & 8: Specialization & Projects

  • Wireless Communication, Embedded Systems, Internet of Things, Project Work, Industrial Electives, Technical Seminars
