Horizon College’s Role in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

As part of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Horizon College has taken several initiatives to bridge the gap between urban education and rural development. We are dedicated to working closely with rural communities and using our academic resources to solve real-world problems faced by these populations.

  1. Rural Immersion Programs: Horizon College organizes rural immersion programs for students, where they visit villages to understand their needs and issues. Through these programs, students engage with the community to identify specific challenges and develop appropriate, sustainable solutions. These programs foster a sense of social responsibility and instill a deeper understanding of rural development among students.
  2. Adoption of Villages: The college has adopted specific villages under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan program. These villages are provided with support in the form of infrastructure development, healthcare services, and education improvement. The students and faculty collaborate with the local administration and villagers to implement innovative solutions that cater to their needs.
  3. Technological Solutions for Rural Development: Horizon College encourages the use of technology to address rural challenges. Our engineering and technology departments work on providing low-cost, sustainable technologies for improving farming practices, clean energy generation, water conservation, and waste management in rural areas.
  4. Workshops and Awareness Programs: The college conducts workshops, seminars, and awareness programs in rural areas to educate people on various aspects of development, such as agriculture, healthcare, and entrepreneurship. These programs are designed to enhance the skills of rural youth and provide them with better opportunities for employment and self-sufficiency.

    • Water purification systems using locally available materials.
    • Solar-powered solutions for rural households.
