Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee

At Horizon College, we believe that a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment is essential for academic success and personal growth. The Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) is constituted to address and resolve the concerns and complaints of students promptly, fairly, and confidentially.

Objective:

To provide a transparent and accessible mechanism for students to voice their concerns regarding academic, administrative, or personal matters, and ensure timely resolution in accordance with institutional policies and values.

Scope of Grievances:

  • Academic issues (exams, evaluation, attendance, results, etc.)
  • Administrative services (hostel, library, transport, facilities)
  • Harassment or discrimination of any kind
  • Issues related to scholarships, fees, or internships
  • Any other matter affecting student welfare

Key Functions:

  • To receive and review grievances submitted by students through official channels (written or online).
  • To ensure that all grievances are handled sensitively and resolved within a stipulated timeframe.
  • To maintain records of grievances and actions taken for institutional improvement.
  • To refer serious matters to higher authorities or specialized committees if required.

Composition of the Committee:

The SGRC comprises faculty members, administrative representatives, and student representatives under the guidance of a senior faculty coordinator or Dean of Student Affairs. The committee ensures fair representation and a student-centric approach in all deliberations.
