Internal Complaint Committee
Horizon College is firmly committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for all students, faculty, and staff. In accordance with the guidelines laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) is constituted to prevent and address issues related to sexual harassment and gender-based misconduct on campus.
Objectives of the ICC:
- To uphold the dignity and rights of individuals by ensuring a harassment-free campus.
- To create awareness and conduct sensitization programs on gender equality and respectful behavior.
- To receive, investigate, and redress complaints related to sexual harassment in a fair and confidential manner.
- To recommend appropriate actions based on the findings of inquiries in accordance with legal and institutional frameworks.
Scope of the Committee:
- Complaints from students, teaching and non-teaching staff
- Incidents occurring on campus, during official events, internships, or associated academic activities
- Promoting gender sensitization through workshops, seminars, and campaigns
Structure of the ICC:
The committee consists of:
- A senior female faculty member as the Presiding Officer
- Faculty members with experience in gender issues
- A non-teaching staff representative
- A representative from an NGO or legal background familiar with issues of sexual harassment
- Student representatives (as required, for student-related cases)
All proceedings are conducted with utmost confidentiality, sensitivity, and neutrality to ensure justice and emotional safety for all parties involved.
