The Central Examination Committee (CEC) at Horizon College plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and transparency of the examination system across all engineering departments. The committee is entrusted with the planning, coordination, and execution of internal assessments, semester-end examinations, and evaluation procedures in alignment with university and regulatory guidelines.

Objectives of the Committee:

  • To establish a robust examination framework that ensures fairness and accountability.
  • To schedule and conduct internal and external examinations smoothly and efficiently.
  • To implement strict protocols for question paper setting, invigilation, and answer script evaluation.
  • To handle grievances and malpractices related to examinations with impartiality.
  • To uphold academic standards by ensuring timely declaration of results and maintaining confidentiality throughout the examination process.

Key Functions:

  • Preparing the academic calendar with exam schedules and deadlines.
  • Coordinating with departments for question paper setting and moderation.
  • Supervising the secure printing and distribution of question papers.
  • Ensuring proper infrastructure and logistics for the conduct of examinations.
  • Monitoring invigilation duties and training faculty as required.
  • Overseeing the evaluation process and publication of results.

Committee Composition:

The Central Examination Committee is chaired by the Controller of Examinations and includes senior faculty members from each department, administrative staff, and IT support personnel to ensure seamless execution of tech-enabled exam systems.
