Zero Tolerance Towards Ragging
At Horizon College, student safety, dignity, and mutual respect are non-negotiable values. In compliance with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the Anti-Ragging Squad functions as a vigilant body to prevent and respond to any form of ragging on campus.
Ragging, in any form—physical, verbal, psychological, or online—is strictly prohibited. The college enforces a zero-tolerance policy towards such acts, ensuring that every student experiences a positive, safe, and welcoming environment.
Purpose and Objectives:
- To prevent incidents of ragging through strict surveillance and regular monitoring
- To intervene immediately upon any reported or observed case of ragging
- To conduct surprise inspections in hostels, classrooms, and common areas
- To support the Anti-Ragging Committee in inquiry and disciplinary actions
- To create awareness among students through orientations and campaigns
Composition of the Squad:
The Anti-Ragging Squad is formed with faculty members, staff, and designated security personnel who actively patrol high-sensitivity zones across the campus. Members operate under the supervision of the Anti-Ragging Committee and are empowered to take immediate preventive action.
Reporting Mechanism:
Students can report any ragging incident anonymously or directly through:
- The official anti-ragging helpline/email
- Complaint boxes installed in academic blocks and hostels
- Direct contact with faculty or student counselors
All complaints are treated with seriousness and strict confidentiality. Disciplinary action may range from suspension to expulsion, in accordance with UGC norms and institutional rules.
